State-of-the-Art Water Reclamation Facility

Water is a precious resource in the arid Wyoming desert and Red Desert provides an efficient, chemical-free solution that enables exploration and production water, frac and other drilling fluids to be effectively re-used.

State-of-the-Art

The most advanced water reclamation facility of its kind. Located in the heart of Wyoming’s oil and natural gas country, this revolutionary water treatment plant allows customers to save time and money, while helping to contribute to a sustainable future.

20,000 Barrels a Day

The facility can process up to 200 trucks per day, purifying large quantities of exploration and production water and frac water in an efficient cycle. Up to 20,000 barrels of clean water per day can be returned for further use in oil and gas operations and other applications.

A Break-Through Technology

The Red Desert Water Reclamation facility utilizes a revolutionary, proprietary process called PetroCleanse. This technology, developed by Clean Runner, is an efficient, chemical-free, low-cost solution that enables production and produced water to be reclaimed and reused at much higher rates than previously achievable. The system employs a combination of technologies to effectively and economically clean water and return it for re-use with an environmentally sound design.

Problem

Oil and gas production generates millions of gallons of wastewater per well. The arid environment of Wyoming makes water a precious resource for the industry. Until now, this wastewater has been deposited into evaporation ponds to be released back into the atmosphere or injected deep underground, much of which does not meet increasingly strict environmental standards.

Solution

Clean Runner’s PetroCleanse is a unique system that reduces the environmental impact of oil and gas drilling by cleaning vast quantities of water to regulatory standards. It purifies the wastewater from oil and gas drilling, and returns back clean, re-usable water. This recycled water can then be distributed back into the market for raising crops and livestock, or for continued use in oil and gas operations.

Result

Red Desert services up to 200 trucks per day, producing up to 20,000 clean barrels of water daily. The facility allows speedy processing time, with fewer operator mistakes, which keeps production on the move. Red Desert also incorporates three evaporation ponds capable of holding 500,000 barrels of cleansed water.
